Atlanta is a large city situated in the South-East of the US. The city is capital of Georgia State and the heart of the ‘New South’. Much developed over the last half century, Atlanta was host to the Olympic Games in 1996.
Atlanta offers far more than just a highly developed and thriving city centre, there are many districts and suburbs which are all distinct and interesting. Despite massive investment and change the city has not lost its style or its friendly and welcoming people.

State Capitol – This is one of the cities finest building’s and was built in 1889. The historic building has interesting tours and exhibits and can be found in the downtown area of Atlanta.
Sweet Auburn – This was the ‘Black Area’ of Atlanta and is an area of great history. There are several buildings of great significance, and attractions such as African American Panoramic Experience.
Grant Park – Located just South of the downtown area, Grant Park is a fabulous experience and features a Cyclorama and Zoo.
Atlanta History Museum – This museum is found in Buckhead, just north of downtown. The recently opened museum has exhibits covering the last 150 years of Atlanta’s history.
World of Coca-Cola Atlanta – With over 1,000 things to see the World of Coca-Cola Atlanta comprehensively covers the history of the world’s most famous soft drink.

King Week (January) – A week long celebration of Atlanta’s favourite son, the great Martin Luther King Jr.
Music Midtown Festival (May) – Starting on the first Friday of every May, the Music Midtown Festival is Atlanta’s largest music celebration with over 300,000 fans attending.
